BIOTEN PLUS / ROUTE 01

Candidate route for general fiber-based food packaging

Plus is the balanced engineering starting point for common food-packaging objects such as cups, bowls, cartons and bags, bringing liquid and grease resistance, coating and film formation, heat-seal forming, finished-pack performance and repulping direction into one project validation.

02 / PROCESS WINDOW

The process window is co-defined by paper, coating, drying and forming.

The process window starts from the customer's paper, equipment, coating method and target pack, then converges through sample and representative-line trials.

01 / INPUT

Inputs

Paper grammage, sizing and absorption, surface energy, contents, contact temperature and duration.

02 / COATING

Coating window

Solids, viscosity, wetting and leveling, target dry coat weight, single or multiple passes and drying capacity.

03 / CONVERT

Converting window

Print fit, rewinding, die cutting, creasing, forming and the heat-seal temperature–time–pressure combination.

04 / PACK

Pack window

Filling, leakage, stacking, transport, exposed edges and consumer use.

03 / VALIDATION GATES

From material screening to finished pack, every step has a release condition.

Cobb defines surface water absorptiveness over a specified time, while WVTR defines water-vapor transmission under stated temperature and humidity. KIT screens grease resistance; contents, time, creases and finished-pack validation close the complete packaging performance.

Industrial-composting suitability is evaluated on the finished pack under EN 13432, ASTM D6868 or another applicable specification. Home composting builds evidence around the complete article, corresponding conditions and an independent certification route.

04 / DOCUMENT STATUS

Validation status drives document and evidence versions.

The public page presents route definition and planned fields. Data and documents are delivered by version as the project advances through sample, pilot and finished-pack validation.

RESEARCH QUESTION

Research question

Records object, failure, target and constraints; the route may enter feasibility discussion.

VALIDATION RECORD

Validation record

After sample or pilot work, versioned records capture conditions, results, failures and scope.

RELEASE PACKAGE

Engineering release package

Stage-appropriate specifications, batches, processes, finished-pack evidence and claim-scope documents form a versioned delivery list in the project agreement.
